What's Next

You have implemented the foundational models of complex systems science. Here are natural next steps:

  • Nonlinear Dynamics — The logistic map and Lorenz attractor are entry points to a vast field. Explore the full bifurcation diagram, the Mandelbrot set, and strange attractors in higher dimensions.
  • Network Science — The degree and small-world lessons are the foundation. Extend to directed networks, weighted edges, community detection, and epidemic spreading on networks.
  • Statistical Physics — The Ising model generalizes to 2D (where it has an exact analytic solution), to the Potts model, and to spin glasses. Finite-size scaling reveals universal critical exponents.
  • Information Theory — Shannon entropy is the foundation of data compression, channel coding, and machine learning. Study the channel capacity theorem and its applications.
